About the Skipper:

Carl has been a fishing enthusiast for around 50 years, his earliest memory is his first sea fishing trip to Bridlington with his late father when he was around 6 years old where he had become enthralled.
Carl was often a participant of freshwater fishing matches but has been absorbed into sea angling within the last 30 years.
With 7 years experience of crewing and being a boat man for the prestigious and highly reputable Paul "Dolly" Eddon, Skipper of 'Trot on' & Shaun "Gance" Elwick, Skipper of 'Alliance'. Carl is honoured to call them great friends and thanks them endlessly for their trust, support & wisdom throughout and now in taking this next step in his fishing career. The last 7 years working with alongside them has been life changing to say the least.

Fantastic couple of days out on the Sea Otter 2. Plenty of cod coming aboard both days and managed a new PB with a cod just under 15lbs. Paul kept us moving around regularly to keep us catching and deck hand Dan helped out with tangles and filleting all the fish for the whole boat. Great skipper with with Fantastic knowledge. Highly recommended and definitely back for the winter festival. Cheers

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Daniel glad you lads enjoyed your 2 days fingers crossed for a big one in winter uptiding competition.

Had a fantastic day fishing with Paul. Put us straight onto the Cod. Had a great time. Special mention to his shipmate Daniel who helped with the bait, cutting, gutting & filleting the fish, would really recommend Paul & Sea Otter 2, will definatly return thanks again.

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Scott glad you enjoyed your day mate see you next time .

  • 5-star Paul Harland (24/08/2019)

Had a great day out on Sea Otter 2 yesterday catching 8 different species including Cod,Pollock,Coal Fish,Wrasse,Ling,Dab Mackerel and a dab.Paul Gave his honest opinion about fishing at anchor and using Bait as opposed to the usual summer tactics of using Plastics and shads as the fish aren’t really on the recks now as the scallop dredgers have made sure of that so the majority of the better fishing is right under the cliffs...Tactics change day to day so please listen to your skipper the previous day before your trip...10/10 Paul.Thank you

Skippers Reponse: Yes Paul a lovely day all round the scallop dredging is not helping still around 80 cod taken including all those other species as well see you next time Paul .

    Cheers paul

Another belting trip on Sea Otter my friend les I fish with couldn't make it so was on my own but I'm a regular so it wasn't long till I was have a laugh with the boy . First day of the festival and it was a bad forcast for the morning but good late morning and rest of the day so off we went I was OK first hour and a half then the dreaded Sea sickness after a couple of heaves I was OK but drained and sat down . I'd been down 20 mins then Paul was stood at my side saying " come on Steve lad " he baited my hook and lobbed it in and handed me the rod straight away fish on he just has the magic touch I fished out the rest of the day and manged a nice bag of fillets . Thanks again to Paul and John deck hand for all your help much appreciated.
