This was my first time ever going on a fishing trip, Paul was really nice and helped show me how to fish from a boat, I caught a lot of mackerel as well as one horse mackerel and two size cod, one of them being the biggest of the day at 3lbs and 4oz, I've been on two other trips since and I'm gonna keep coming back for more, thank you so much for the great experience!

Great day, Start to finish. Paul was helpful and acommodating, even providing Rods, Reels and terminal traced ( hokai's and weights) to those who needed them, along with some great advice and assistance.
Bad weather further out meant that today was always gonna be in the bay. With a Dad's and Lads group joining us from Scarborough we sailed at 07:25hrs..... we all soon got to know each other and they were a great bunch of lads.... once out at our first mark it was lines in... feathers bouncing i soon pulled in a double header of Mackies, and while I was I was chatting to Mark ( one of the dads) I jokingly said I wasn't after lots of fish,
I Just wanted one fish
.... but I wanted it to be five feet long!!!
..... that set the pace for the next couple of hours. With everyone putting fish in their tubs.
With all the Mackerel around, I decided to try for something a little bigger.... so I popped a Tope rig on
( kindly provided by skipper) with a Mackerel (Tail off and flanks slashed) and I sat gently bouncing my lead off the sea bed, fishing hard to the bottom and quietly watched everyone else continue to pull in those blue (or green )beauties.
Around 40mins and a bait change later something took my line, it screamed off, pealing line from my SL20SH.....I was fishing a 20-30lb class rod with 18lb main line so I played the drag, letting the little beastie tire itself out.... I got it to the side of the boat before it took off like a torpedo..then eventually it wore itself out.... I got it alongside and Paul tailed it with a closed noose and with some effort, lifted it into the boat..... it was around 5' long and had a good girth to her.... Skipper Paul estimated it to be 45-50lbs...
After photos it was returned unharmed....
Today way great.
Thanks to my mate Dave, all the guys on the other party and especially to the Skipper... thanks guys :-) -
Andy Baxter (29/06/2021)
Another great day out with Paul .The fishing was a bit slow to start but with the skippers tenacity we were soon on the fish. Nothing was too much trouble with advice on bait, lures and landing the fish.
We had a good selection of Mackerel ,Whiting, Coal fish, Dabs, Wrasse and Cod.
We were lucky with the weather and the scenery provided by spectacular diving birds
looking forward to the next trip
Andy BaxterSkippers Reponse: Thankyou for your review Andy, it's always a pleasure to have you & the lads on board. Luckily we found the cod in good numbers. Look forward to seeing you all on your next trip on the 28th, cheers Paul
